Mary Stephenson

Mary StephensonMary has been responsible for growing the Waterberg Welfare Society (WWS - www.waterbergwelfaresociety.org.za) since 2002. It is a grassroots community led NGO based in the Waterberg in South Africa dedicated to creating better lives for the community.

“I fell in love with the Waterberg Community in 2000 and within 24 months had made it my home. Never in my life have I felt so strongly called to make such a leap of faith. I feel so privileged to have had this opportunity to do something meaningful. I met Sophie when she came out to volunteer as a teacher in the Waterberg in 2002. We have both walked a long road since then and watched many of our kids benefit from the support and shelter provided by The Clabile Trust and Waterberg Welfare Society so I am thrilled to formally become a Trustee of Clabile and hope to bring my 15 years of fundraising experience to help raise further funds to help provide a sustainable platform for the youth in the Waterberg community.”
